We will work with you to create a program custom designed to maximize your abilities. We will get you back to doing what you want to do.

A Team of Rehab Experts

At SORC, rehab is a team effort. Leading your team is your physician. Your doctor will determine the overall direction that your treatment will take. Working by your side will be experienced rehab professionals like occupational and physical therapists. They will guide you through your individual rehab program.

When needed, experts such as athletic trainers, exercise  physiologists, and dieticians will be added to the team to round out your course of treatment. Every member of your team shares your goal – get back to doing what you want to do.

Our Services

Physical Therapy
When most people think of rehab, they think of physical therapy. Our professionals are using the latest treatments to get our physical therapy clients moving again. Strength training is a key element to many rehab programs. SORC has a fully equipped exercise area stocked with the latest in stationary bikes, computerized treadmills, Cybex weight-lifting machines and free weights.

In addition, SORC has private treatment rooms where clients may receive ultrasound therapy, traction, heat therapy or other specialized treatments from our expert staff. You can count on our physical therapy team to meet your goal: get back to doing what you want to do.

Hand Therapy
Hand and elbow injuries such as fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and tendinitis require specialized rehabilitation. SORC has an integrated hand therapy center for this specialized work. It is staffed by therapists who are experts in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation and keep up-to-date with the very latest treatments. Working together with you, our professionals will devise a rehabilitation plan that may include custom splinting, exercise therapy and other activities to improve motion and dexterity.

Every one of our therapists is dedicated to making sure that hand therapy clients are able to regain maximum possible function in their hands as quickly as possible. They will work hard with you to get you back to doing what you want to do.

Industrial Rehabilitation
Work-related injuries are costly for employees and employers. Everyone wants the injured employee to get back on the job as quickly as possible. SORC’s Industrial Rehab program was created with the goal of providing effective rehabilitation for injured workers that prepares them to return to the job as quickly as possible.

As an industrial rehab client, you will have access to all of SORC’s exercise equipment as you perform work retraining and conditioning. Our industrial rehab specialists will custom-design a rehab program to meet your goal -- get back to doing what you want to do.

Aquatic Therapy
SORC’s special aquatic therapy program can help many clients using SORC’s other therapy services. Using our heated pool and large whirlpool spa, aquatic therapy clients use the natural resistance of water to provide a less stressful exercise environment. Exercise classes using the aquatic therapy pool are regularly scheduled and include aerobic and low impact exercise.

Our cardiac rehab program also uses our pool as a relaxing, yet effective, exercise environment. Many former patients use our facility daily to stay in shape through our ReHabit program. Aquatic therapy is one of the ways SORC is staying on the leading edge of rehab. It is all part of our goal to get you back doing what you want to do.

Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab and Wellness Exercise
People with cardiac and pulmonary conditions, as well as those with long-term illness have rehabilitation needs that are far different from those who suffer a sports-related injury or are hurt on the job. SORC has a separate program for these special patients that builds or maintains strength and encourages wellness.

For cardiac and pulmonary patients, exercise and fitness are critical to staying healthy. The cardiac and pulmonary rehab program is centered on aerobic exercise to strengthen the heart and lungs. In addition, nurses will monitor blood pressure and other vital statistics and will keep physicians informed of your progress.

Patients with long-term illness, such as cancer, renal disease, or general deconditioning can also use exercise to maintain their health. Exercise and diet can play an important role in the success of your treatment plan. Working with your physician, SORC will devise a wellness program that complements your other treatments.

SORC’s cardiac and pulmonary rehab and wellness exercise programs are part of a larger treatment regimen prescribed by a physician. As part of your treatment team, SORC’s specialists will work hard to get you back doing what you want to do.
